Uzbekistan and ZTE forge strategic partnership to accelerate digital transformation

ZTE and Ministry of Digital Technologies sign MoU at MWC 2026 to modernize telecom infrastructure and explore 6G, Wi-Fi 7/8, and satellite innovations

PARTNER CONTENT ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a global leading provider of integrated information and communication technology solutions, announced the strengthening of its long-term partnership with the Republic of Uzbekistan. During the Mobile World Congress 2026, a high-level delegation led by H.E. Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, visited the ZTE booth for official talks and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The Uzbek delegation was hosted by Mr. Xie Junshi, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of ZTE; Mr. James Zhang, Senior Vice President and President of Asia-Pacific and CIS of ZTE;, and key leaders from the company's Uzbekistan representative office.

The discussions focused on deepening the strategic partnership, with an emphasis on the comprehensive modernization of Uzbekistan's telecommunications infrastructure and the deployment of cutting-edge technologies. Key areas of dialogue included the development of robust data center infrastructure, the expansion of high-speed broadband internet access, and the potential for launching new digital services utilizing innovative solutions.

At the conclusion of the negotiations, both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at further expanding mutual cooperation. This document establishes a framework for introducing modern communication technologies, strengthening the nation’'s telecommunications sector, and accelerating the development of the digital economy.

Following the signing, H.E. Minister Sherzod Shermatov toured the ZTE exhibition area. He was given an in-depth presentation on the company's latest technological advancements, including next-generation network infrastructure, state-of-the-art equipment for data centers, and forward-looking innovations such as 6G technologies, Wi-Fi 7/8 solutions, and advanced satellite communication systems.
